Without a doubt, food is my love language, and my passion for food certainly came from growing up in a Persian household.
In Persian culture, food and community are a natural pairing. Eating long dinners with family outside on summer nights. Preparing tea for guests before long conversations. Lingering at the dining table long after a meal is over simply because of the good company. It was easy to fall in love with food when this was the background it was set to.
But I learned all this from my mom, the best home cook I know, who can turn even the scarcest of ingredients into the most delicious and heartwarming dish. The meals she makes are laborious, sometimes spending hours in the kitchen, but every second is worth it to her knowing that the people she loves will share the meal.
Aspiring to my mom's talents with a desire to create recipes of my own, I started @zoyeaashpaz to document the foods I make (and eat!) with the hopes of building an online community similar to the one I grew up with.
